STATEMENT(S)
I am a movement-loving, body-space-time-exploring dancer. I am a performer. I want to be on stage. I am a creator. I am a story teller. I work with my hands. I am a Renaissance Woman. I am driven. I work until I am weary, but I am always searching for more. I am seeking a way that my, and others’, artistic visions can come together. On stage. Whatever, wherever, whenever that stage can be found.
One story in particular I want to tell is about the hard life of a dancer. I want people to know about the lives of dancers. This is my story, but also the story of so many others I have met. It is an important story about our field, the dance community, and art in this country.
Another story of interest to me is how costumes, clothing, and fashion can be used as a tool in creating a powerful dance performance. In my choreographic style, I used costumes to build movement and develop character for the stage.
THE SITE
Here, you can find me.
Just like me, this website is ever-evolving. The Internet is an incredible medium for community and connection and for me, it is an experiment. As my professional life and online expression develops, I want to present my best face, self, and work. As I search for balance and focus, here, you can find me.
This site is LizBrentDances because dancing is how I want to move through my life.
